LAGCOE to hold inaugural career fair

LAFAYETTE — Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, one of the world’s pioneer oil and gas expositions, will hold its inaugural LAGCOE Career Fair during LAGCOE from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cajundome Mardi Gras Ballroom at the Cajundome & Convention Center and at marked exhibitor spaces.
The event is free to the public and will feature unique networking opportunities with energy industry human resource staff and industry professionals showcasing new equipment and services. Career development sessions provide job seekers tips on resume writing and building careers. All current and potential oil and gas professionals are encouraged to attend and can register easily at www.lagcoe.com/energy-careers.
The Career Fair shares LAGCOE’s mission of “fostering public education of the function and services of the oil industry” and “promotion of the oil industry as a whole.”
“LAGCOE offers this event in response to the oil and gas industry’s critical need for a qualified workforce,” said Angela Cring, LAGCOE’s executive director. “Our goal is to provide the industry with an outlet for recruiting and to facilitate effective networking between existing and future professionals.”

In continuous operation since 1955, LAGCOE is a first rate exposition where world class companies display the latest equipment and services and technical sessions address pertinent issues from across the globe. LAGCOE 2013 exhibit space is sold out with 416 exhibitors displaying while over 400 companies remain on the wait list. LAGCOE 2011 welcomed 14,000 attendees from 47 states and 27 countries.
