Amy LeBlanc of Berwick started the St. Mary Rocks group on Facebook a couple of weeks ago after learning of the idea from a group of people decorating rocks in her hometown in Missouri and placing the rocks in different places in the community. In light of recent tragic events, LeBlanc decided to bring the movement to St. Mary Parish and paint rocks, add inspirational messages to them and place them in different places throughout the parish. Cajun Coast officials plan to take some of the rocks with them when they go to the lieutenant governor’s tourism summit in Shreveport and put the rocks throughout the state, Cajun Coast Spokeswoman Jean McCorkle said.
