Former New Orleans Saint Chris Reis spoke to the football teams at Patterson and Central Catholic high schools Tuesday. Reis, a youth pastor at Our Savior's Church in Lafayette, talked about his playing days for the Saints, teamwork, unity, success, significance, faith and self value. Reis was invited to speak by the administration of both schools. Reis recovered the onside kick in Super Bowl XLIV against the Indianapolis Colts at the beginning of the second half to eventually propel the Saints to a victory. Reis said the play was called “ambush” and was designed for Roman Harper to recover the ball, but he was lucky enough to “fall on the ball” after it bounced off the chest of a Colts player.
