4 arrested in prostitution ring

Four people were arrested at a Morgan City hotel after police found they were using the internet to advertise and solicit prostitution services, according to Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch.
—Ginger L. Connor, 42, of Ernul, N.C., and Shanna M. Orgeron, 20, of Bowman Street in Morgan City, were arrested at 2:26 a.m. today for prostitution and possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Jamie G. Harris, 31, of Virgil Boulevard in New Orleans, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. today for soliciting for prostitution and possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Sean C. McBean, 41, of Ridgeway Boulevard in New Orleans, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. today for inciting prostitution, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Shante Miller, 32, of Andry Street in New Orleans, was arrested at 2:26 a.m. for possession of Schedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives located the individuals in a hotel room at Days Inn in Morgan City and found people using the internet to solicit and advertise prostitution services, Crouch said. Harris and McBean were controlling the operation to solicit Connor’s and Orgeron’s services, Crouch said. Miller was also located in the room, but was not charged with prostitution, Crouch said.
Police also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the room. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, Crouch said.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following additional arrest:
—Bret J. Keton, 19, of Filmore Street in Morgan City was arrested at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday on City Court warrants for failure to appear for urinating in public and St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in drug court for marijuana possession and on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of synthetic marijuana.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert responding to 33 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Devon E. Marsh, 21, of the 1000 block of Ciro Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:19 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. Marsh turned himself in at the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. He was released on $5,000 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Landon Lightfoot, 23, of the 1600 block of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. Wednesday for simple possession of marijuana first offense. Lightfoot was released on bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
