A convicted sex offender was charged Tuesday with failing to notify authorities he had moved from Lafayette to Patterson, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.

Berwick police are investigating a report of someone producing a gun Tuesday night during an argument.
Detectives are trying to identify the man seen in this surveillance image stemming from a Jan. 29 incident at Walmart in Bayou Vista. A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office deputy gathered video evidence of a male suspect concealing bottles of liquor in a box containing a baby’s high chair. The suspect then purchased the high chair and walks towards the exit. When store security personnel confronted the suspect, he produced what appears to be a box cutter and threatened the employee.
