CCHS honors football, volleyball teams

Staff Report

Central Catholic honored its football and volleyball teams during a ceremony Thursday at the Yvonne Anne Adams Life Center.
Among the honors distributed were senior awards, academic and athletic all-district, as well as academic all-state and one academic all-state composite award.
Below are the award recipients:
FOOTBALL
—First Team All-District 7-1A: Samarick Paul, wide receiver; Matthew Barbier, kicker; T.J. Ruffin, defensive line; Stefano Guarisco, running back; Charlie Barron, defensive back; Jalen Johnson, wide receiver; Garret LeBlanc, linebacker; and Tanner Wiggins, linebacker.
—District 7-1A Defensive MVP: LeBlanc.
—Second Team All-District 7-1A: Matthew Vorenkamp (defensive line), Sage Thibodeaux (defensive line), Thomas Garber (offensive line) and Cole Baker (offensive line).
—Honorable Mention All-District: Charlie Solar (linebacker), Sydney Holder (defensive back), Blake Byrne (quarterback), Demarcus Mitchell (linebacker), Samuel Guarisco (defensive back), Greg Leger (linebacker), Chris Singleton (running back) and Blake Hidalgo (offensive line).
