CCHS, Patterson close regular season with district wins

Central Catholic High School closed its regular season with a 52-39 victory against Ascension Episcopal in District 7-1A action.
The Eagles led Ascension Episcopal 15-7 after a quarter, 23-16 at halftime and 35-26 after three quarters.
Ascension Episcopal connected on six three-pointers, while Central Catholic made two.
Three Eagles reached double figures led by Samarick Paul’s 19 points. Elijah Swan added 15 points, while Ja’len Johnson had 10. Other Central Catholic scorers included Blake Byrne with five and Brooks Thomas, three.
Central Catholic (13-10 overall, 9-5 in district) will await its first-round postseason seed in the Division IV bracket, which will be announced Monday.
Patterson defeats
Franklin
The Patterson Lumberjacks rallied from a first-quarter deficit en route to a 73-61 District 8-3A victory at Franklin to close the regular season Friday.
While Patterson trailed 18-9 after a quarter of action, the Lumberjacks outscored Franklin 23-12 in the second period for a 32-30 halftime lead. Patterson extended its lead to 49-42 after three quarters and outscored Franklin, 23-19, in the fourth period for the final margin.
Patterson made five three-pointers in the game, while Franklin connected on four.
Jordan Butler led three Lumberjacks in double figures with 15 points. Other Lumberjack scorers included Kai Schexnayder, 14; Tyric Garrett, 11; John Brooks, eight; Khyri Harris and Elijah Williams, seven each; Drew Lucas and Dajon Richard, four each; and Jaymioun Butler, two.
Patterson (16-9, 11-1) will await the announcement of its Class 3A first-round playoff opponent, which will be announced when brackets are released Monday.
Berwick falls to
North Vermilion
The Berwick Panthers dropped their final regular season contest at North Vermilion, 54-48, Friday.
No individual stats were available Monday.
