CCHS is undefeated; PHS wins 1

Central Catholic finished 2-0 this weekend at its Christmas Classic, while Patterson recorded a 1-1 finish.
Central Catholic defeated Patterson, 64-33, Friday and topped Westgate, 58-38, Saturday.
Patterson beat Terrebonne Saturday.
In Friday’s win against Patterson, Central Catholic jumped out to an 18-4 lead after the first quarter and led 38-12 at the half and 53-26 after three quarters.
Randi Brown led the Lady Eagles with 26 points and added five steals, five assists and six rebounds, while Meo Knight scored 21 points along with eight steals, five rebounds, three assists and one block.
Other top scorers included Gee Garrett, six points, two rebounds and a block; Hallie Autin, five points and one rebound; and Megan Landry, four points, one steal, two assists, and two rebounds.
Jamila Tate led Patterson with eight points, while Jazmin Evans scored six points and Erykah Singleton, four points.
Against Westgate, the Lady Eagles led 16-4 after the first quarter and 30-10 at halftime. Central Catholic took a 47-21 lead heading into the final quarter.
Knight led the Lady Eagles with 20 points as well as four steals, six assists and five rebounds, while Brown scored 14 points and also recorded six rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block.
Other top scorers included Gee Garrett, nine points and one rebound; Megan Landry, six points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal; while Hallie Autin had six points, one steal and one rebound; and Mary-Beth Blanchard, three points.
In Patterson’s win against Terrebonne, the Lumberjills outscored Terrebonne 12-10 in the final period for the final score.
Patterson, who led 13-6 after the first quarter and 19-17 at halftime, had entered the fourth quarter tied with Terrebonne at 28.
Gaylen Grogan led Patterson with 12 points, while Brooks scored 11. Other top contributors included Nyla Holder, five points; and Evans and Tate, four points apiece.
Patterson (4-10) will return to action today when it travels to face Jeanerette.
Central Catholic (11-2) will return to action Thursday when it travels to Donaldsonville to face Ascension Catholic in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
Morgan City falls to Baker
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Baker, 45-37, in nondistrict action at home Friday.
No individual statistics were available today.
Baker is last year’s Class 3A state runner-up.
Morgan City (7-4) will return to action Friday when it makes the short trip across the Atchafalaya River to face Berwick in a 5 p.m. contest.
