The 1965 Central Catholic High School football team finished its regular season 11-0 and fell in the Class B State Championship game to Arcadia 50 years ago this fall. While the squad tied Arcadia 7-7, they lost due to Arcadia having more first downs. Team members include, bottom row, Donald Estave, George Beaugh Jr., Robert Breaux, Greg Aucoin, Paul Michel, Ray Campo, Rodney Hayes, Andre Dragna, Bernard Levy, Billy Thompson and Merlie Fuselier. On the middle row are Butch Gautreaux, David Arcemont, Nolan Chasson Jr., Louis Arnette, Joey Hepler, Buzzy Joy, Joey Streva, James Oschwald, Dexter Leonard, Robert Dimiceli and Ronnie Baker.
