Gueydan routs CCHS

Gueydan routed Central Catholic, 62-35, in District 7-1A girls’ high school basketball action in Morgan City Monday.
Gueydan took a 19-5 lead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 34-15 at the half en route to the victory.
No individual stats were available for the Lady Eagles.
Central Catholic (9-5 overall, 1-1 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face Lafayette Christian in a 6 p.m. contest.
Morgan City falls
to Plaquemine
Morgan City High School fell to Plaquemine, 52-47, on the road Monday.
Laqwaijha Bourgeois led Morgan City with 19 points, while Alisha Singleton was right behind with 18 points.
Other scorers included Sh’Diamond Holly, four; Hailey Lewis, three; India Bennett, two; and Elicia Dorsey, one.
Morgan City (4-7) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Vandebilt Catholic in a 6 p.m. contest. The contest will be both teams’ District 7-4A opener.
