MCHS falls to Kaplan 41-27

The Morgan City Tigers fell at Kaplan 41-27, Tuesday, in nondistrict action.
While the Tigers mostly kept pace with Kaplan in the second through fourth quarters, they were hurt by a rough start to the game as they were outscored 17-3 in the first quarter.
Morgan City trailed 22-10 at halftime and 31-19 after the third quarter.
Morgan City scored virtually all of its points via 3-pointers. Morgan City hit eight treys, and connected on just one two-point field goal, a shot by Buddy Humphrey in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers also had attempted just two free throws in the contest as a team, both by Humphrey in the second quarter as he went 1-for-2 from the line.
Abram Hartley led the Tigers with 12 points, while Deandre Walker had six; and Brady Fryou, Humphrey and Marquis Green each had three points.
Morgan City (1-13) will return to action Friday when they make the short trip to Patterson to face the Lumberjacks. Junior varsity action will begin at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow.
