Panthers, Lady Panthers lose in tourney

The Berwick Panthers and Lady Panthers both dropped first round games Wednesday at the Hanson Memorial basketball tournament.
The Berwick Panthers lost to West St. Mary 66-52. Leading scorers for the Panthers were Kenan Jones with 14 points, and Audwin Williams and Donald Tillman with 12 points each. Brandon Naverro added six points while Dralyn West and Josh Carver scored three points apiece.
The Berwick Lady Panthers also lost 57-32 to West St. Mary Wednesday in the Hanson Memorial basketball tournament.
Asia Jackson was the Lady Panthers leading scorer with 22 points. Brittany Boudreaux added four points while Iesha Jones scored three points. Jenna Beiza scored two points, and Nicole Johnson scored one point.
Tournament play continues as the Lady Panthers will play Franklin at 3:30 p.m. Friday while the Panthers will play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. They will play the loser of the Loreauville-Highland Baptist game.
