Rusty Beach wins 700 Club bowling tournament

Rusty Beach topped Adam Amador to win the Morgan City USBC Bowling Association’s annual 700 Club Tournament at Charlie’s Lanes on Nov. 16.
Beach, who had survived the loser’s bracket, had to beat Amador, who had advanced through the winner’s bracket, twice to win the tournament.
In the first match, Beach topped Amador 234-217, while in the deciding game, Beach won 227-204.
Alberto Bochas was the highest handicap bowler not to make the finals.
This year’s 700 tournament was different than in years past because a two-game seeding total was used and then bowlers were matched in bracket play according to seeding.
The bracket was a double-elimination format, guaranteeing all bowlers at least four games.
All games were bowled scratch.
The high handicap bowler is decided by the results of the first four-game total.
Prior to the bracket play, the standings were as follows:
1, Eric Cortez, 481; 2, Jerry Pillaro, 449; 3, Rusty Beach, 445; 4, Dustin Fuselier, 442; 5, Brandon Delaune, 440; 6, Ryan Veillion, 435; 7, Seth Hebert, 434; 8, Kenny Keton Jr., 433; 9, Michele LaCombe, 407; 10, Alberto Bochas, 394; 11, Adam Amador, 386; 12, Leo Delaune, 366; 13, Anthony Falgout Jr., 350; 14, Neil Durr, 349; 15, Larry Deslatte Jr., 322; and 16, Brett Keton, 310.
The 700 tournament is available to anyone who bowled a sanctioned 700 series in Morgan City at any time before the annual tournament.
The Morgan City USBC Bowling Association would like to thank all bowlers that participated and Charlie’s Lanes for their support and their employees’ assistance.
