Skippers defeats Taco Bell in extras

Skipper’s Sporting Goods edged Taco Bell, 4-3, in 11 innings in Swampland baseball action Thursday in Morgan City.
Skipper’s had four doubles in the victory.
Alex Brocato led Skipper’s with a 2-for-2 performance with a double and an RBI. Other top offensive contributors included Morrquise Charles, 2-for-4, a double; Ross Albritton, 1-for-5, a double, two RBIs and a run; and Malik Phillips, 1-for-4, a double, an RBI and a run.
Charles earned the win in relief. In three innings, he surrendered one hit, three walks, one hit batter and fanned three.
Mitchell Mancuso started and received a no decision. In eight innings, he surrendered three runs — one earned — on six hits with one walk, one hit batter and six strikeouts.
Denver Jenkins, the third of three pitchers used by Taco Bell (Berwick), earned the victory. In 0.2 innings, he surrendered one earned run and two walks with one hit batter.
While Skipper’s (Morgan City) took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, Taco Bell clawed its way back into the ball game, scoring a run in the top of the third, one in the top of the sixth and another in the top of the seventh. The score remained the same until the bottom of the 11th.
D.J. Robicheaux led Taco Bell with a 2-for-4 performance with an RBI. Other top offensive contributors included Kyle Pitre, 1-for-2, a double and two runs; Reid Wiley, 1-for-1, an RBI; and Collin Kulka, 1-for-2, an RBI.
Patrick Robertson started for Taco Bell. In four innings, he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.
In six innings of relief, Cameron Wiley surrendered one hit, one walk, one hit batter and fanned eight.
In junior varsity action, Taco Bell held off Skipper’s for a 7-6 victory.
Taco Bell scored all of its runs in the top of the first for a 7-0 advantage.
Skipper’s scored three runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the bottom of the fourth.
Ryan Domingue started for Taco Bell. In two innings, he surrendered two hits and fanned one.
In two innings of relief, Evan Thomas surrendered six runs — three earned — on four hits with three walks and one strikeout.
Offensively, Barret Hover led Taco Bell with a 1-for-1 performance with a double, an RBI and a run. Other top offensive contributors included Alex Orlando, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; Brett Williams, an RBI, a stolen base and a run; Seth Giroir, an RBI and a run; and Zeph DeLatte, an RBI.
J.P. Dupuy suffered the loss for Skipper’s. In three innings, he surrendered seven runs — four earned — on four hits with three walks, one hit batter and three strikeouts.
Offensively, Seth Canty finished 2-for-3 with a run; Chris Pitre was 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs; and Dylan Tingle, an RBI.
Skipper’s (2-1) will return to action today when it travels to face Taco Bell (1-2). Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
BCG Services
edges TrimCo
BCG Services scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 5-all tie for a 6-5 victory against TrimCo Millwork and Supply in Swampland baseball action Thursday on the road.
While BCG Services (Covenant Christian) took as much as a 5-0 lead after four innings, TrimCo (Patterson) rallied with three runs in the top of the fifth and two in the top of the seventh.
“Proud of our effort and who we are trying to be right now,” TrimCo coach Ryan Jensen said. “The task is to make that a 365-day thing.”
Noah Bryant suffered the loss in relief. In 2.2 innings, he surrendered one earned run on two hits with three walks.
Brad Beaubouef started for TrimCo. In four innings, he surrendered five runs — three earned — on five hits with one walk, one hit batter and fanned one.
Offensively, Joel Singleton led TrimCo with a 2-for-3 performance with two runs. Other top offensive contributors included Hayden Pinho, 1-for-2, an RBI; Chad LaGrange, two RBIs; and Marcus Vining, an RBI and a run.
TrimCo (1-2) will return to action today when it hosts BCG Services. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Halimar falls to
Jester’s Court
Halimar Shipyard fell at home Wednesday to Jester’s Court, 6-2.
No individual statistics were submitted.
