Lacey Sanchez crowned Miss Louisiana

MONROE (AP) — Lacey Sanchez has been crowned Miss Louisiana and will represent the state at the Miss America Pageant.
Sanchez won a $10,000 scholarship June 28 in Monroe. The News-Star reports that the 23-year-old LSU student from Baton Rouge was chosen from a field of 32 contestants.
Sanchez was preliminary lifestyle and fitness swimsuit winner on June 27. Her platform is “Designed to Move.”
Miss Spirit of the Ouachita Amy Matherne was first runner-up. Miss Monroe Kelly Bernard was named second runner-up. Miss Heart of Pilot Chelsi Hefner, and Miss Holiday in Dixie Tori Thompson were named third and fourth runners-up.
Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival Shannon Byrd was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants. Miss Northwestern Lady of the Bracelet Taylor Layman won the healthy living award.
