Roy presents wreath program at BVGC meeting

Gloria Roy, Bayou Vista Garden Club program chairman, presented a make-and-take program titled, “Wreath DIY,” during the club’s March meeting.
She guided members on the techniques of decorating wreaths. Roy developed her skills through years of experience in wreath design for the Bayou Vista Garden Club and other organizations.
Environmental Awareness Chairman Kim Alcina displayed planters made from recycled encyclopedias.
A member plant exchange was conducted by Horticulture Chairman Jean Chauvin.
Hostesses for the meeting were Ann Breaux, Suzan Fangue and Mary Myers. The floral design, “Pot of Gold,” was created by Myers. She used all yellow flowers, which included sunflower, rose and several varieties of chrysanthemum.
The door prize winner was Nancy Marcel.
The next club meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Bayou Vista Community Center. New members are welcome to attend.
