Downed utility pole causes outage

By ZACHARY FITZGERALD zfitzgerald@daily-review.com

A utility pole that went down on Front Street caused a power outage late Sunday afternoon that saw all power restored to the area within about three hours, City Utilities Director Bill Cefalu said.
Someone hit a utility pole at the corner of Ann and Front streets causing the pole to fall, though no one was there when city workers arrived, Cefalu said.
Officials got the call at 3:41 p.m. Sunday of the downed pole, and workers restored power to the circuit at 4:30 p.m., Cefalu said. All power was restored to the area by 6:21 p.m., Cefalu said.
The outage affected everyone on the Second Street feeder, which includes Second Street to Front Street and Onstead Street to Brashear Avenue, Cefalu said.
The pole had a guide pole that supports the main utility pole on two sides, and someone either hit the guide pole or main pole, Cefalu said.
