Health fair, screenings offered at Teche Regional on Friday

Teche Regional Medical Center is holding a free health fair and screening event titled “Working toward Wellness” co-sponsored with Oncologics from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the hospital.
Laboratory screenings, a variety of health-related booths and members of the medical staff will be available.
The Working toward Wellness health fair is a community wellness program designed to educate the public about the prevention of disease and to promote healthy lifestyles, a hospital news release stated. It is also a chance to remind the community about the services that are offered by the hospital.
Sabrina Roy, Teche Regional Medical Center’s director of marketing, said, “As a community hospital, it is our job to help keep our community healthy and educated about wellness and prevention. This year’s event offers members of the community the opportunity to have screenings done, gather educational materials, and ask questions to physicians and health care professionals.”
The Working toward Wellness health fair is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with health care providers in the community and to gather information about healthy lifestyles, she said.
