MORGAN CITY -- Tonight's District 7-4A football game between Morgan City High and Vandebilt Catholic ended with about 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter after a Morgan City player sustained an injury that left him laying on the field for roughly 40 minutes before being taken by ambulance to Teche Regional Medical Center

Anthony Rink, a junior who plays offensive tackle, linebacker, and special teams, was the injured player, and both teams agreed to end the game after Rink's injury, with Vandebilt Catholic winning the contest 28-13.
Morgan City head coach Dennis Lorio said Rink, who had feeling in his arms and legs and some soreness along his spine, was taken to the hospital at the advice of medical personnel as a precautionary measure.
"He had a little numbness in his shoulder, but he had feeling in arms and legs,"

Lorio said Rink was later released after results from an X-Rays and an MRI were negative.
Rink was playing offensive tackle and was injured on a play where Morgan City's Hector Tolento threw an interception.
