St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Looking for Man Wanted for Aggravated Burglary

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a 30-year-old New Iberia man wanted for aggravated burglary stemming from an Oct. 10 incident at an industrial facility in Bayou Sale, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.

On Oct. 10, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a report of a burglary at an industrial facility located off La. 317 in the Bayou Sale area. The victim encountered two male suspects on the property. One of the suspects engaged the victim resulting in a struggle before fleeing the business. Detectives developed information that led to the identification of one suspect involved in this crime, Hebert said.

Scott Carter, 30, whose last known address of the 2200 block of Divine Road in New Iberia, is wanted on a warrant for aggravated burglary. Detectives believe Carter may be connected to another industrial business theft reported is the same area, Hebert said.

Carter has a large tattoo of “est. 1983” on his back as well as tattoos on his upper left arm. Carter also has a tattoo on the right side of his neck, Hebert said.
