Patterson takes loss in May 1 playoff game

University Lab jumped on Patterson with six runs in the first inning en route to a 10-0 win in the first-round of the Class 3A state playoff Friday in Baton Rouge.

Patterson’s baseball team stumbled out of the blocks but the Lumberjacks turned things around by season’s end.

Patterson and Berwick high schools managed to complete a continuation game Friday in Patterson. The Lumberjacks were ahead 2-0 when the game was postponed due to lightning on April 16. Patterson added two more runs in Friday’s contest to win 4-0 securing second place in district. E.D. White stands in first place and Berwick is third. Patterson edges out Berwick Friday

Patterson blanked Berwick, 4-0, at home Friday in a continuation game from April 16.
