The annual St. Mary AARP Mardi Gras Kings and Queens Luncheon was held Feb. 17 at the Clarion Hotel in Morgan City. Honored guests were reigning St. Mary AARP King and Queen XXIX Gordon and Faye Smith. Stephanie Dupre was luncheon chairperson. Adonis Crown Club members gathered for an annual dinner on Feb. 1 at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. The club is composed of past queens and wives of past kings of the Krewe of Adonis. Special guests were Captain Keith Leonard, King and Queen Adonis XLII Jake Breaux and Carey Gaddis. Earl Francis and his wife Lisa McCurtis-Francis were crowned as the first royalty of the Krewe of Grandeur on Feb. 11 at the Patterson Area Civic Center. King and Queen Grandeur I were part of a 14-piece court that represented the theme, “Elegant Evening with Grandeur.” Trainbearers were Ajayce McCurtis, Dehari McCurtis, Dreshon McCurtis and Durell McCurtis Jr.
