Two Bayou Vista residents jailed, accused of violating protective orders

Two Bayou Vista residents were arrested on a warrant for violating a protective order, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.

—Glenn Rochel Jr., 33, of the 500 block of Arcemont Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of resisting an officer by force and on a warrant for violation of a protective order and simple assault.

—Mindy Macaluso, 32, of the 500 block of Arcemont Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for violation of a protective order.

A deputy began an investigation into a complaint of a possible battery on May 7. The deputy gathered evidence that Rochel and Macaluso went to a residence in the Patterson area and confronted a man.

During a subsequent argument, Rochel verbally and physically threatened the victim with violence. The deputy viewed the victim’s protective orders against Rochel and Macaluso and determined that the pair violated the court orders.

The deputy obtained warrants for their arrests. Rochel and Macaluso were located at their residence. During Rochel’s arrest, he forcefully pulled away from the deputy in an attempt to free himself.

Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Hebert reported responding to 41 complaints and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:

—Ashly Gaskins, 28, of the 900 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of theft and for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, improper lane usage, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failure to honor written promise to appear.

During a traffic stop in Morgan City, a detective with the Narcotics Division made contact with Gaskins and located the active warrants for her arrest. Gaskins was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:

—Patsy Durocher, 31, of Missouri Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday on warrants for simple battery and driving under suspension.

Officers located Durocher at an address on Missouri Street where she was arrested. Durocher was jailed.

— Teana Rivet, 29, of Stacy Street in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. today on warrants for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws.

Rivet was transported from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office Detention Center to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active arrest warrants. Rivet was jailed.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:

—Harold Sheets, 33, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with simple battery. Sheets was released on bail.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
