Paying It Forward, a local nonprofit community group, hosted its second annual “Stuff the Bus” Friday under the U.S. 90 bridge in Morgan City to collect supplies for St. Mary Parish children in need. Another “Stuff the Bus” event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Family Dollar parking lot in Patterson. The city of Patterson and Patterson schools are sponsoring the event. School supplies to be collected, distributed

Community members in Patterson will both be collecting school supplies and uniforms for local children in need and distributing already collected items Saturday at different locations.
A Stuff the Bus school supplies drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Family Dollar Parking Lot on Catherine Street in Patterson.
Suggested items to donate include notebooks, pencils, erasers, Clorox wipes, loose leaf paper, copy paper, markers, colored pencils, glue, glue sticks, tissues, paper towels, socks, underwear, belts, binders, dry erase markers and feminine products.
The drive is sponsored by the city of Patterson, Patterson High, Patterson Junior High and Hattie Watts Elementary.
Word of Life Family Church, 108 Ryan St. in Patterson, will have a school fair from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. Free school supplies, free school uniforms and free shoes will be given away. Children must be present to receive items.
New Salem Baptist Church, 1412 Cherry St. in Patterson, will give away free school uniforms and school supplies from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
