Awareness brunch

Dr. Kenya Whitney shares information with guests at the Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch hosted Saturday by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Phi Rho Chapter. The sorority hosts the brunch organized annually by Brenda Paul during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Whitney spoke on risk factors, treatment options and the importance of annual mammograms and getting to a physician immediately when any changes are detected. Guests also heard a testimonial by Violet Thompson who has battled breast cancer twice. Also, free mammograms were awarded in a drawing by Teche Action Clinic.
