NOLAN MICHAEL BOREL SR.

NEW IBERIA — Funeral services were held for Mr. Nolan Michael Borel Sr., age 91, today, Monday, July 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Pentecostal Church with the Rev. A.L. Lyle serving as the Celebrant. Interment followed at Beau Pre Mausoleum with full military honors.
Visitation was Sunday, July 3, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation continued today, Monday, July 4, 2016, from 9 a.m. until service time at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 12310 Hwy. 90E, Jeanerette, La. 70544.
A native of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Borel passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 12:14 p.m. at a local nursing facility.
Mr. Borel was a field supervisor for the sugarcane industry for many years. He was very proud of having served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post of Jeanerette, the American Legion, and Calvary Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his sons, Nolan Borel Jr. and wife Julene of Patterson, and Gary W. Borel and wife Trudy of New Iberia; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Verna Borel Eldridge of Youngsville and Wilda Borel Naquin of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Guillotte Borel; father, Wilfred Borel Sr.; mother, Elda Sullivan Borel; and two brothers, Wilfred Borel Jr. and Wilton Borel.
Upholding the honor of pallbearers were David Youngblood, Chris Borel, Howard John Eldridge, Todd Borel, Troy Borel and Brady Borel. Honorary pallbearers were Bradyn Borel, Tyler Borel and Drew Smith.
