JAMES C. ‘JIMMIE’ DUCOTE

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption for Mr. James C. “Jimmie” Ducote, 86, a native of Plaucheville and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away Tuesday morning at his home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Ducote, Steven Michael Ducote, James L. Ducote, Jay Trahan, Paul Meeks and Peyton Trahan. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Boudreaux Ducote; two sons, Jimmy Lee Ducote of Franklin and Steven Michael Ducote and his, wife, Nola, of Sulphur; one brother, Herrin Ducote of Dupont; three grandchildren, Tara D. Trahan and her husband, Jay; Lindsay D. Meeks and her husband, Paul; and James L. Ducote; two step grandchildren, Melissa Bellon and Darrell Conner; four great grandchildren, Peyton, Riley and Baylee Trahan and Andreas Meeks; and three step great grandchildren, Devon and Justin Fontenot and Kaylee Conner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Filbert Ducote and Annette Mayeaux Ducote; and one sister, Wanda Ducote.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of dismissal at 10:45 a.m.
