REV. JOSEPH GASH JR.

The Rev. Joseph Gash Jr., 92, pastor of Higher Mount Zion Baptist Church, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at 2:02 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital following a short illness. He was a resident and native of Franklin.
He is survived by four sons, David Gash of Centerville, Clyde Gash of Franklin, Clarence Gash and Rickey Gash, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter, Maggie Gash Stansbury of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, George Spain of Sorrell; one sister, Rosetta Blanks of Franklin; 26 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitations will be observed at Triumph Baptist Church Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Burial rites will be read at that church Saturday, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Willie Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
