CCHS Lady Eagles split games Wednesday

Central Catholic split its games Wednesday in high school basketball action.
The Lady Eagles fell to Acadiana, 46-20, in its finale at Lafayette Christian Academy’s tournament, while the squad defeated Catholic High-New Iberia, 51-20, later in the day.
Against Acadiana, Sydney Williams led Central Catholic with six points, while Taylor Picou had five and Yani Johnson, four.
In the win against Catholic High, Hallie Autin had 37 points, including seven three-pointers, while Johnson had five and Rebecca David, four.
Central Catholic (3-2) will return to action Monday when it hosts West St. Mary in a 6 p.m. contest.
Berwick wins
tournament title
Berwick High School’s boys won Ascension Episcopal’s tournament Wednesday with a 63-30 victory in the finals against the host.
No individual stats were available for the Panthers, who improved to 3-0 with the win.
Berwick will return to action Thursday when it takes on Terrebonne in an 8 p.m. contest at Terrebonne’s tournament.
MCHS finishes
as runner-up
Morgan City High School’s boys finished as runner-up at White Castle’s tournament Wednesday, falling to East Ascension, 63-59.
No individual stats were available.
Morgan City (3-1) will return to action Monday when it travels to face West St. Mary in a 6:30 p.m. contest.
