'Jacks clinch district title

Patterson High School clinched the outright District 8-3A title with a 74-63 victory at North Vermilion Tuesday evening.
Patterson outscored North Vermilion 20-8 in the first quarter, led 38-26 at the half and 61-43 after three quarters.
Taylan Grogan led Patterson with 25 points, while Kenneth Washington had 14. Other scorers included Nehemiah Augustus and Tyric Garrett, eight points apiece; Dajon Richard, seven; Jordan Butler and Khyri Harris, three points each; and James Butler and Drew Lucas, two points apiece.
Patterson (20-4 overall, 11-0 in district) will return to action Friday when it takes on Franklin in a District 8-3A varsity contest set for 6 p.m. at Patterson High.
MCHS falls
to Assumption
Morgan City High School dropped its final game of the season to Assumption Tuesday, 71-61.
The Tigers were outscored in every quarter except the fourth, trailing 21-16 after a quarter, 38-29 at the half and 51-40 after three quarters.
Makye Richard led Morgan City with 20 points, while Taaj Daniels had 13 points and Ke’sean Francois, 11. Other Morgan City scorers included Jared Singleton, nine; Abram Hartley and DeAndre Grogan, three points apiece; and Clifton Escort, two.
Morgan City finished its season with a 12-18 overall record and a 1-9 mark in District 7-4A action.
Berwick falls
to E.D. White
The Berwick High School boys’ basketball team fell to E.D. White, 56-25, in boys’ basketball action in Thibodaux Tuesday.
The game was tied at 5 after a quarter, E.D. White took a 23-11 lead at the half and entered the fourth quarter ahead 43-23.
Audwin Williams led Berwick with nine points. Other scorers included Tysin Meads, seven; Travis Whitehead, five; and Cody Roberie and Josh Carver, two points apiece.
Berwick (17-13, 6-5) will return to action Friday when it hosts North Vermilion.
