'Jacks rout West St. Mary

Patterson High School routed West St. Mary 79-57 in boys basketball action Thursday at Patterson.
While West St. Mary led 15-14 after a quarter, Patterson responded with an 18-7 edge in the second quarter for a 32-22 halftime advantage.
Patterson led 52-43 after three quarters.
Nehemiah Augustus and Dajon Richard led four Patterson players in double figures as they each scored 16 points.
Other scorers included Jordan Butler, 14; Taylan Grogan, 10; D.J. Jones and Khyri Harris, seven apiece; Kenneth Washington, six; and Drew Lucas, three.
Patterson will return to action today when it opens District 8-3A play at home against Kaplan. The boys’ contest will follow the girls’ varsity game, which is set for a 5:30 p.m. start.
