Lumberjills defeat St. James 47-41

The Patterson Lumberjills defeated St. James 47-41 in nondistrict action at St. James Tuesday.
Patterson took an 11-6 lead after the first quarter and led 22-14 at the half.
St. James held a slight scoring edge in the third quarter at 10-7 to cut its deficit to 29-24, but Patterson outscored the home team 18-17 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Jazmin Evans led Patterson with 15 points, while Erykah Singleton also reached double figures with 12.
Other scorers for Patterson included Nakia Brooks, eight; Makayla Ruiz, seven; Alex Benjamin and Nia Broussard, two points each; and Kemprielle Williams, one point.
Patterson (9-7) will return to action Jan. 6 when it travels to face Erath in a 6 p.m. contest.
CCHS falls to Terrebonne
The Central Catholic Eagles fell to Terrebonne 58-55 in both teams’ finale at E.D. White’s tournament in Thibodaux Tuesday.
Both teams were tied at 9 after the first quarter, while Terrebonne took a 24-20 lead at halftime and a 39-37 lead after three quarters.
While Central Catholic led by four in the fourth quarter, the Eagles couldn’t hold on for the win.
Samarick Paul led Central Catholic with 17 points while Jalen Johnson added 14.
Central Catholic (3-8) will return to action Jan. 6 when it opens District 7-1A play at home against Highland Baptist.
