MCHS soccer teams tourney play cut short

The Morgan City boys’ and girls’ soccer teams’ participation in the Copa tournament this weekend was cut short by inclement weather.
The Tigers defeated Opelousas Catholic and Lafayette Christian by identical 1-0 scores. Triston McCullough scored the Tigers’ goal against Opelousas Catholic, while Jose Aguilara had Morgan City’s goal against Lafayette Christian.
On the girls’ side, Morgan City fell to Sam Houston, 2-0 and tied St. Martinville, 2-all. Drew Angeron and Angie Sagastizado scored Morgan City’s goals against St. Martinville.
Morgan City’s boys’ (4-6) and girls’ (1-4-1) teams will begin district play Tuesday at Lutcher.
