The Central Catholic High School Lady Eagles fell to Vermilion Catholic, 62-31, in District 7-1A action in Morgan City Thursday.
Lydia Rivas and Jalaysia Bertrand led Central Catholic with eight points apiece.
Vermilion Catholic entered Thursday’s contest ranked No. 8 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A power rankings.
Central Catholic (11-7 overall, 3-3 in district) will return to action Monday when it hosts Hanson.

While Central Catholic rallied to take the lead in the fourth quarter, Vermilion Catholic pulled away for the victory.
No individual stats were available for the Eagles (3-11, 1-3), who will return to action Monday when they host Hanson.
