Central Catholic’s first high school fishing team competed in the Louisiana High School Bassmasters Fall Qualifier Oct. 15. A record 131 teams competed in the season’s first tournament on the Red River in north Louisiana. It was a tough day of fishing, the Red River was much lower than usual and conditions were challenging. Gunnar Theriot, left, and Ben Harrington of the Central Catholic High School Fishing Team took 26th place in the tournament, weighing in two fish with a total weight of 3.79 pounds. The next tournament will be held on the Calcasieu River in Lake Charles in February. (Submitted Photo/Courtesy of Sarah Theriot)
