Wright, Fuselier win Russo mixed doubles tournament

Kristi Wright and Dustin Fuselier won the 32nd annual Mac Russo Mixed Doubles Memorial Tournament Oct. 18 at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Wright and Fuselier defeated Joyce Gaudet and Chandler Delaune, 463-433, to win the title.
In the tournament, sponsored by the Morgan City U.S. Bowling Congress Bowling Association and Charlie’s Lanes, the top five teams bowled in a step-ladder finals format.
Gaudet/Delaune was seeded first; Wright/Fuselier, second; Joddy Cormier/Butch Cormier, third; Pam Hensgens/Jerry Pillaro, fourth; and Kelli Stegall/Mike Stegall, fifth.
In the playoff matches, Hensgens/Pillaro defeated Stegall/Stegall, 396-376.
Hensgens/Pillaro then defeated Cormier/Cormier, 468-374.
In the next match, Wright/Fuselier edged Hensgens/Pillaro, 440-433, to advance to the finals where they faced Gaudet/Delaune. Wright/Fuselier defeated Gaudet/Delaune, 463-433.
The final two matches, Wright/Fuselier vs. Hensgens/Pillaro and Wright/Fuselier vs. Gaudet/Delaune, will be aired on KWBJ TV 22 Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Thirty teams participated in the event.
