The Atchafalaya Golf Associated conducted its first event of the year, the Super Bowl Shamble, Sunday at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild. The 2017 St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Junior High Baseball season opened on Saturday at Caffery Park. The catchers for Opening Day ceremonies are pictured above. They include Lawson St. Blanc of Hanson along with Matthew Broussard of Berwick, Drew Miller of Morgan City and Spencer Hebert of Central Catholic. A total of eight games were played Opening Day. Action continued Monday at Caffery Park in Franklin, Kemper Williams Park in Patterson and Morgan City Park Field. Games are also scheduled in Franklin, Bayou Vista, Kemper Williams and Morgan City.
