Morgan City High alum and LSU standout Vernon Norwood set both a meet and field house record in the 600-yard run Friday at the University of Kentucky’s Rod McCravy Memorial Indoor Track and Field meet. Norwood’s time of 1:08.84 broke the previous mark of 1:11.69. He and teammates Darrell
Bush, Quincy Downing and Cyril Grayson also finished second in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:04.28, which broke the field house and meet marks too but were not enough to beat Florida. Above is Norwood during the 2014 indoor season. (Submitted Photo/Courtesy of LSU Sports Information)
