A Morgan City man, who had been in jail for robbery, was captured Tuesday afternoon after he attempted to escape on foot from the Morgan City Jail, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Jessie C. Davis, 22, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for simple robbery, resisting an officer, simple escape and a felony probation violation.
Davis was located inside the City Court complex. As Davis was being escorted to the Morgan City Jail by city marshals, Davis broke free and fled on foot, Banks said. Officers were summoned to assist and located Davis in the area of Railroad Avenue, Banks said. As officers converged on Davis, a good Samaritan assisted officers in his capture, Banks said. Davis was jailed.
The robbery warrant stems from a May 27 complaint of a stolen wallet in the area of Duke Street, police spokesman Capt. James Blair said.

—Tiffany N. Chauvin, 31, of Uranus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. Tuesday for creating/operating a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance, creating/operating a clandestine lab for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II methamphetamine and possession of Schedule II Adderall.
—David Mire, 37, of Velma Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:51 p.m. Tuesday for creating/operating a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance, creating/operating a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of Schedule II methamphetamine and possession of Schedule II Adderall.
Narcotics division detectives began an investigation into the presence of a clandestine laboratory used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Investigators learned of the location of the activity and secured a search warrant for a Brashear Avenue hotel room. The hotel was within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. Investigators, with assistance from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, executed the search warrant and came into contact with Mire and Chauvin.
Detectives located a clandestine laboratory at that location which was active and in the process of producing methamphetamine. The area was secured and a crew was summoned to the scene to clean up and secure the area. Detectives located paraphernalia items, finished methamphetamine and Adderall, Banks said. Both Mire and Chauvin were jailed.
—Ameedah T. Charles, 29, of Short Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for identity theft.
Detectives began an investigation of an identity theft on March 13. Detectives were able to identify Charles as a suspect. Charles is alleged to have used the victim’s identity to secure and open new wireless accounts. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Charles as a result of the investigation. Charles was jailed and released on $2,500 bail.
—Jerry L. Percle Jr., 45, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish for driving under suspension and speeding.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven by Percle on La. 182 in Morgan City. The officer, aware that Percle was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, stopped the vehicle. Percle was jailed.
—Vincent Thomas, 20, of Mount Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday for direct contempt of court.
Thomas was accused of becoming unruly during court proceedings and was additionally charged with contempt of court. He was already incarcerated and was re-booked.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 39 complaints and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Laya Watson, 25, of the 800 block of South Main Street in Jefferson, was arrested at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace by fighting on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista.
—April Dixon, 30, of the 400 block of Dejean Circle in Crowley, was arrested at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace by fighting on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Southeast Boulevard for a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies learned that an altercation took place between Watson and Dixon, resulting in said charges, Hebert said. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration. Bond wa set at $500.
—Mindy Robicheaux, 36, of the 100 block of Moon Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday for simple criminal damage to property. A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance on Moon Street where a window was broken. Robicheaux was jailed with bail set at $250.
—Crystal Tomino, 26, of the 100 block of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday in Morgan City on a warrant for distribution of Schedule III Subutex.
At about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, narcotics division detectives located Tomino at a local business in Morgan City. This stems from an investigation in which Tomino sold Subutex, Hebert said. Tomino was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Elizabeth Jones, 51, of the 200 block of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday for driving while intoxicated second offense, hit and run driving and careless operation of a motor vehicle. Jones was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Ira M. Lopez, 50, of the 400 block of Broussard Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:04 p.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace. Lopez was jailed on $237 bail.
