A Houma man was arrested Friday on four drug charges including possession of Xanax and Suboxone, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Alland E. Spence, 33, of the 100 block of Chato Court in Houma, was arrested at 7:02 a.m. Friday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule IV (Xanax) and possession of Schedule III (Suboxone).
Narcotics division detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to use a turn signal 100 feet prior to turning into a business off of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Spence. Detectives received consent to search Spence and located marijuana, a pipe used for smoking, several Suboxone strips, and a Xanax pill, Hebert said. Spence was jailed.
Hebert also reported responding to 127 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Brian Derouen, 26, of the 1200 block of South Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. Friday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute and violation of turning movements and required signals.
Narcotics division detectives were patrolling the Amelia area when they observed a vehicle fail to use the turn signal 100 feet prior to an intersection. Detectives made contact with the driver, Derouen, and located several packs of synthetic cannabinoids. Derouen was jailed and released on $25,250 bail.
—Jonathon Conner, 34, of the 400 block of Henry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:09 p.m. Friday for possession of Schedule II (Adderall), and on three warrants for failure to appear on the charges of failure to yield, simple criminal damage to property, and driving under suspension.
A deputy responded to a report of a person in a truck who appeared to be unconscious. The deputy made contact with a person who was sleeping in the vehicle, identified as Conner. The deputy observed that Conner was in an intoxicated state. With the assistance of the Morgan City Police Department K-9 Unit, authorities found Adderall pills in the truck, Hebert said. Conner was jailed with no bail set.
—Tyler Brewer, 21, of the 400 block of Louisa Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:25 p.m. Friday for theft of goods and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Brewer was jailed with bail set at $6,000.
—Darrel Williams, 55, of the 1200 block of West Ibert Street in Franklin, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Friday for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Williams was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12.
—Jensy Ortiz, 36, of the 100 block of Chennault Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:39 a.m. Saturday for improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle cross the center line into an opposing lane of travel on La. 182 near the Greenwood Overpass.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Ortiz. The deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Ortiz’ breath. Ortiz registered .15 grams-percent on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test. Ortiz was jailed and released on $2,750 bail.
—Crystal Broussard, 36, of the 100 block of Greenleaf Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:33 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. While responding to a complaint in Amelia, a deputy made contact with Broussard and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Broussard was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12.
—Brittany D. Martin, 25, of the 3000 block of Lizabeth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:34 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy made contact with Martin during a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in the Morgan City area and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Martin was jailed with no bail set.
—Byron Williams, 36, of the 400 block of Verdun Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 11:22 a.m. Friday for hit and run driving. A deputy responded to a complaint of a hit and run on Prairie Road North. The deputy learned that a vehicle had struck a ditch and a garbage can before leaving the scene of the crash, Hebert said. Deputies searched the area and located the suspect vehicle that had damage consistent with the hit and run. The vehicle was positively identified and the deputy made contact with the owner, Williams. He was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12.
—Brenda Calderon Magana, 23, of the 100 block of Diana Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Friday for theft of goods and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista.
The deputy learned from store personnel that Magana was seen placing items in her purse and then attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Magana had children with her at the time the crime was committed. She was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Natasha D. Garner, 28, of Morgan City, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Friday for theft less than $300, possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance-Diazepam and possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance-Hydrocodone.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 pharmacy in regard to a shoplifter. Officers learned that Garner concealed items valued at $34.73 in her handbag without paying for the items. Garner was also found to be in possession of several pills of Diazepam and Hydrocodone, a Schedule III CDS. She was jailed.
—Shina D. Short, 31, of Morgan City, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance-marijuana, resisting an officer by giving false information, possession of drug paraphernalia, on a warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks and on a warrant from Houma Police Department for failure to appear for a ticket.
An officer detained a vehicle in regards to a traffic violation observed in the area of Pine Street. The passenger in the vehicle, who initially used a false name to identify herself, was identified as Short, who was found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants. Short was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed.
—Brandon L. Boudreaux, 28, of Morgan City, was arrested at 10:35 a.m. Friday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance-synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and appearing in an intoxicated condition.
An officer observed a person in an impaired condition walking in the area of Brashear and Federal avenues. Boudreaux was found to be impaired and in possession of a pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics, Banks said. He was also found to be in possession of a small amount of synthetic marijuana. Boudreaux was jailed.
—Joshua J. Kinkle, 19, of Morgan City, was arrested at 10:29 p.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a moveable and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
Officers received a complaint in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner and on flat tires in the area of Maple Street. An officer located and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued to drive on flat tires until the driver stopped on Victor II Boulevard.
The driver, Kinkle, was found to possess alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. Kinkle registered .147 grams-percent blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed.
—Amanda Bordelon, 29, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Friday for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and two headlights required.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of La. 182 and Ditch Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Bordelon, was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Anthony Harris, 18, of Amelia, was arrested at 7:43 a.m. Saturday on a warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for arraignment.
An officer observed a suspicious person in the area of Front Street near Brashear Avenue. Harris was found to be wanted on a warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear. Harris was jailed.
—Robert L. Jenne Jr., 51, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace and remaining after being forbidden.
The Morgan City Police Department was summoned to Teche Regional Medical Center in regard to a person refusing to leave the premises. Officers located Jenne who refused to leave the premises when asked by security and continued to cause a disturbance, Banks said. He was jailed.
—Bobby L. Seely Jr., 39, of Morgan City, was arrested at 4:04 a.m. Sunday on warrants for failure to appear for improper lane usage, failure to signal, no license plate light, no driver’s license, no insurance, on a warrant from Lafourche Parish for contempt of court and resisting by giving false information.
Officers were dispatched to the Waffle House in regard to a large crowd. Officers came into contact with Seely. When officers questioned Seely, he gave a false name to officers, Banks said. He was identified as Seely and jailed.
—Rebecca B. Martin, 42, of Morgan City, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Sunday on warrants for failure to appear for remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace intoxicated. Martin was located on Terrebonne Street and jailed.
—Bradley E. Druihlet, 27, of Baldwin, was arrested at 12:11 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of marijuana. Druihlet was jailed.
—Elmer A. Hernandez, 27, of Morgan City, was arrested at 8:07 p.m. Sunday for no driver’s license, no insurance and two headlights required.
An officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Brashear Avenue and Fourth Street after it was observed with improper lighting. The driver, Hernandez, was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Manuel Hernandez, 21, of the 700 block of Kem Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:41 p.m. Sunday for DWI, speeding 37 mph in a 25 mph zone, expired license plate, no insurance and open container. He was jailed with no bail set at this time.
—Patrick Augman, 40, of the 1700 block of Rosario Street in Patterson, was arrested 12:07 a.m. today on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for theft of goods. He was jailed with no bail set at this time.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
