Sheriff: Two flee on motorcycles; one arrested

One motorcyclist was arrested Friday and another is still at-large after the two fled from St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies on Friday, Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Dylan M. Guillot, 26, of the 200 block of Hortense Street in New Iberia, was arrested at 7:16 p.m. Friday on the charges of aggravated flight from an officer, driving under suspension, modification of exhaust, no mirrors, no motor vehicle inspection, no proof of motorcycle endorsement and switched license plate.
Dispatch received a complaint of two motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 90 east in the Franklin area. A deputy responded and located two people matching the complainant’s description on U.S. 90 at La. 317 in the Centerville area, Hebert said.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop. Both motorcycle drivers saw the deputy, failed to pull over, and accelerated, Hebert said. The deputy followed and advised dispatch to contact other agencies in the area to assist. Answering the call, Patterson Police observed one of the motorcycle drivers travel onto AM Gray Lane in Bayou Vista, Hebert said.
In an attempt to evade police, the driver crashed the vehicle, laying the motorcycle down, the sheriff said. The driver then attempted to flee on foot. Patterson Police officers apprehended the driver who was identified as Guillot. Guillot was booked into parish jail and later released after posting $4,750 bail. The deputy who initiated the traffic stop continued to follow the second motorcycle driver. The deputy received information from by-standers in the area that the suspect fled down Southeast Boulevard, Hebert said.
The deputy located the motorcycle, a black Suzuki, behind a business on Belleview Street, the sheriff said. The driver of the vehicle, a white male, fled from the area, Hebert said.
The driver was wearing a sleeveless camouflage shirt and dark colored shorts, Hebert said.
He was wearing a black helmet and operating a black Suzuki GSX-R1000. The vehicle had no rear brake discs, Hebert said. Anyone with information on the identity of the driver may contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-828-1960, 985-384-1622, or crimewatch@stmaryso.com.
Hebert reported responding to 109 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Deavnta Burden, 22, of the 100 block of BDC Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 12:29 p.m. Friday on a warrant for simple robbery and simple battery and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. The warrant for simple robbery and simple battery charges stems from an investigation into a complaint of a robbery that took place at a residence on La. 83. Detectives learned that Burden struck a relative in the face and took a small amount of cash from the male victim’s pocket. The victim sustained a black eye. Detectives located Burden at his residence on the warrants and transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
—Travis Richardson, 26, of the 500 block of St. Mary Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:11 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, failure to use seatbelts, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy responding to a complaint at a business on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with Richardson and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Richardson was jailed with no bail set.
—Tony Teague, 46, of the 100 block of Mercury Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Sunday on the charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned that Teague struck a woman, Hebert said. Teague was jailed with no bail set.
—Travis P. Romero, 43, of the 400 block of Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Sunday for reckless operation of a vehicle, flight from an officer, and on a warrant for violation of protective orders.
A deputy observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on La. 182 in the Siracusa area. The deputy initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the motorcycle failed to pull over, Hebert said.
The deputy followed and alerted neighboring agencies. With the assistance of Louisiana State Police Troop C, the driver, identified as Romero, was apprehended without incident on Jolie Oaks Boulevard off of La. 20 in Thibodaux. Romero was booked and released after posting $5,000 bail.
—Darla J. Andras, 52, of the 100 block of Bayou Boeuf Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 9:53 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft over $500. A deputy responded to a request to remove a subject from a business on La. 182 in Amelia. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Andras, and located the active warrant for her arrest. Andras was booked and released on $10,000 bail.
—Steven Morris, 28, of the 100 block of Vista Village Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:37 a.m. today on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
—Ashley Bertrand, 27, of the 100 block of Vista Village Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:37 a.m. today on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Morris and Bertrand were involved in an argument when they committed a battery upon each other. Both were jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Samantha M. Williams, 25, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. Friday on the charge of failure to appear for drug court.
Williams was located at a residence on Aucoin Street. Williams had an outstanding warrant for the 16th Judicial Court. She was jailed.
—Jarmarcus L. Paddio, 18, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:19 a.m. Friday on the charge of remaining after being forbidden.
Officers were dispatched to a local business on Seventh Street in regard to a disturbance. Officers were told by management that Paddio had been banned from the store. When employees asked him to leave, he started using profanities towards them, Blair said. Officers located Paddio outside of the business, and he was jailed.
—David T. Francois, 42, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:22 p.m. Friday on the charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer.
—Shia D. Short, 32, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:22 p.m. Friday on the charges of disturbing the peace, possession of marijuana second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule II cocaine, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law, probation violation and failure to pay probation fee.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Fourth Street in regard to a domestic disturbance. Officers were told by witnesses that they heard a female in the residence yelling. Officers were able to enter the residence and located Short and Francois. Francois tried to run from officers, but was later subdued, Blair said.
During the investigation, officers located suspected marijuana and suspected cocaine in the residence, along with drug paraphernalia, Blair said. Short stated to officers that the items belonged to her, Blair said. Both Short and Francois were jailed.
—Ty M. Hammonds, 35, of Patterson, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Friday on the charge of driving while intoxicated.
A patrol officer in the parking lot of a business on La. 182 noticed a vehicle with the driver asleep. The officer approached the vehicle and attempted to awaken the driver.
Once the driver, identified as Hammonds, was awake, the driver exited the vehicle. The officer observed Hammonds was unable to maintain his balance, and the officer could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, Blair said.
Hammonds performed poorly on a field sobriety test, Blair said. Hammonds registered .136 grams-percent blood alcohol content on a chemical test. He was then charged with driving while intoxicated and jailed.
—Anton D. Williams, 21, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:10 a.m. Saturday on the charge of theft less than $750 ($31.63).
Officers were dispatched to a local business on La. 182 in regard to someone leaving the business without paying, Blair said. When officers arrived, management gave the description of the subject who left the business. Officers were able to locate the suspect fitting the description in the area of Everett and Ninth streets.
According to reports, Williams was asked about leaving the business without paying for his food and he stated he did because he did not have enough money to pay the ticket, Blair said. Williams was jailed.
—James A. Tarleton, 21, of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:56 p.m. Saturday on the charges of driving under suspension and red light violation.
A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 and U.S. 90 observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red traffic signal and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Tarleton, was determined to have a suspended driver’s license. Tarleton was jailed.
—Gale V. Driskill, 61, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Saturday on the charge of improper lane usage.
A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 and Myrtle Street observed a vehicle drive in the middle of the roadway, taking up both lanes of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Driskill was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.
Officers could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage on Driskill’s breath, Blair said. Driskill registered under the legal limit of .08 grams-percent blood alcohol content, Blair said. Therefore, Driskill was only charged with improper lane usage.
—Daniel A. Scully, 40, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Sunday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to a local bar on La. 182 in regard to a disturbance. When officers arrived they located Scully, who appeared intoxicated and refused to leave the area, Blair said. Scully was jailed.
—Jayme R. Wininger, 19, of Palm Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:57 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear for speeding.
Wininger was located in the area of Sixth and Fig streets. Wininger held an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court and was jailed.
—Robin D. Carbin, 47, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. Sunday on the charge of theft of goods ($24.20).
Officers were dispatched to a supermarket on La. 182 in regard to a shoplifter. When officers arrived, Carbin had been detained. According to reports, Carbin had concealed several items and tried leaving the store without paying. Carbin was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Richard Lasseigne, 65, of the 500 block of Pacific Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. Saturday on the charges of failure to signal turn, driving while intoxicated first offense and driving under suspension. Lasseigne was released on $6,000 bail.
—Carmel Triggs, 33, of the 700 block of Cleveland Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Saturday on the charge of simple battery. Triggs was jailed on $319 bail.
—Tayler Davis, 17, of the 100 block of Natalie Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. Sunday on the charge of disturbing the peace by language. Davis was released on $237 bail.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronnie Theriot reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Steve Dupre, 47, of the 1000 block of Pauline Court in Morgan City, was charged with simple battery of the infirm.
