Berwick Police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a medical emergency at A.J. Dohmann Chevrolet Cadillac in Berwick. Police found an unresponsive man identified as James Gotte Jr., 27, of Jennings, Berwick Police Chief James Richard said. Gotte was treated at Teche Regional Medical Center and later arrested for misuse of toxic vapors among other drug charges, Richard said. Collin Gray, 24, of Jennings, was also inside the vehicle at the car dealership and was arrested on drug charges, the chief said.

Two arrested after one found unconscious

Two Jennings men were arrested on drug charges Wednesday afternoon in Berwick after one of the men was found unresponsive inside a vehicle at a car dealership, Berwick Police Chief James Richard said.
—Collin Gary, 24, of Jennings, was arrested at 1 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of possession of Schedule III steroids-testosterone, possession of Schedule III steroids-trenbolone, possession of Schedule III steroids-nandrolone, possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—James Gotte Jr., 27, of Jennings, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia and misuse of toxic vapors.
At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Berwick Police received a call of a medical emergency at A J Dohmann dealership in Berwick. Acadian Ambulance was among the other first responders, Richard said. Gotte was a passenger in a vehicle and was found unresponsive “apparently from the misuse of toxic vapors,” Richard said.
Gotte was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Gary, the driver of the vehicle Gotte was found in, was found to have steroids, synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia in his possession, Richard said.
After Gotte was released from the hospital, he was arrested. Both Gotte and Gary were incarcerated with no bail set yet.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 53 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Dylan Oubre, 27, of the 4300 block of La. 182 in Patterson, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of simple burglary and resisting an officer. A deputy investigating a complaint of a residential burglary in the Patterson area developed Oubre as a suspect.
The deputy located Oubre at his residence. While speaking with the suspect, the deputy learned that Oubre entered the residence without the permission of the owner and took several items including a wrist watch and prescription medication, Hebert said.
Oubre knew the victim and had knowledge of where the items were located in the home. While being taken into custody, Oubre repeatedly pulled away from the deputy in an attempt to break free, Hebert said. Oubre was jailed with no bail set.
—Christina Breaux, 22, of the 100 block of Diane Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging her with theft. The warrant is the result of an investigation into a complaint of theft at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned that Breaux stole prescription medication from the home of the victim while she was visiting the residence. The deputy located Breaux near her residence on the warrant. Breaux was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
