Lady Tigers win opener
Morgan City High School won its season opener with a 49-39 victory against Terrebonne in Morgan City Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers outscored Terrebonne in ever quarter except the second, taking an 11-5 lead after a period, a 23-19 lead at halftime and 33-26 lead after three quarters.
Laqwaijha Bourgeois led Morgan City with 20 points, while Sh’Diamond Holly had 13. Other scorers included Alisha Singleton, eight; Twanna LeBeau, four; Deryon Johnson, three; and Hailey Lewis, one.
Morgan City (1-0) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Central Lafourche.
