Three people were arrested Friday after St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives investigated a Patterson man who purchased Sudafed to use in a meth lab, and subsequently made two more arrests in the case at Lake End Park in Morgan City, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Christian Marcel, 33, of the 200 block of Kathleen Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. Friday for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, operation of a clandestine laboratory, possession of Schedule II (Roxicodone), possession of Schedule II (Lortab), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—John Q. Lyons, 48, of the 900 block of Irish Bend Road in St. Joseph, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. Friday for operation of a clandestine laboratory, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
—Cyrilla Lyons, 48, of the 100 block of Neptune Lane in Grand Isle, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. Friday for operation of clandestine laboratory, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana second offense.
Narcotics detectives conducted an investigation into Marcel purchasing over the counter drugs (Sudafed) for use in a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory. Detectives located Marcel on U.S. 90 in Berwick. Marcel was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, Hebert said. After receiving consent to search his vehicle, detectives located more methamphetamine, Lortab pills, Roxicodone pills, drug paraphernalia items and several precursor items used in the manufacturing of meth, Hebert said.
Detectives also learned the location of the methamphetamine lab and continued their investigation at Lake End Park in Morgan City. Detectives located John Lyons and Cyrilla Lyons in a tent at the park. John Lyons was found to be in possession of a bag of methamphetamine, Hebert said.
Detectives located several precursor items used in the making of methamphetamine in the tent, Hebert said. Detectives also found a bag of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia including needles and a digital scale. Detectives contacted a clean-up crew to collect the hazardous material. All three were jailed with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 122 complaints over a 72-hour period in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Maynor B. Perez, 24, of the 3400 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 1:17 p.m. Saturday for aggravated battery domestic abuse. A deputy investigating a report of domestic abuse discovered that Perez had struck a female victim with a belt. Through further investigation, the deputy learned that Perez had used other items to strike the female on multiple occasions. Perez was jailed with no bail set.
—Arturo Chavana, 25, of the 2500 block of Keith Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:10 a.m. Saturday for tail lights required, no driver’s license, and unlawful possession of fraudulent documents. Chavana was jailed with no bail set.

—Laquita Ross, 35, of the 100 block of Boudreaux Street in Thibodaux, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Saturday on two warrants from Lafourche Parish for contempt of court and a warrant from Thibodaux Police for contempt of court.
Telvin Shepherd, 20, of the 400 block of Petite Road in Lafayette, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Friday for theft of goods. at a store in Bayou Vista. Shepherd was jailed with bail set at $1,000.
—James J. Bailey Jr., 19, of the 100 block of Railroad Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace.  He was released on $250 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Deandra D. Johnson, 27, of Frances Street in Berwick, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for aggravated assault, failure to pay a fine for contempt of court, a warrant for Lafourche Parish for unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling.
An officer determined that two females were involved in an altercation outside a restaurant. She was jailed.
—William Dodd, 31, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 3 a.m. Friday for appearing intoxicated in public and resisting an officer.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 address and were advised that Dodd was beating on the door of the residence, Crouch said. Dodd attempted to flee from officers and was quickly apprehended. He was jailed.
—Leon Sylvester, 29, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:03 p.m. Friday for illegal possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance-crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance-Tylenol with Codeine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Geraldine Ayro, 57, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:03 p.m. Friday for illegal possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance-crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance-Tylenol with Codeine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morgan City Police detectives along with assistance from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Seventh Street in Morgan City. The warrant was a result of an investigation by Morgan City Police Department regarding numerous complaints of illegal drug activity suspected at the residence, Crouch said. Suspected crack cocaine, paraphernalia and a Tylenol with Codeine were located in the search.
Sylvester, and his mother, Ayro, were jailed. Ayro’s bail is set at $5,000. Sylvester’s bail is set at $150,000.
—Drew M. Witherwax, 35, of Susan Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:59 a.m. Saturday for urinating in public. Witherwax was released on bail.
—Mark A. Eugene, 49, of Hickory Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Saturday for appearing intoxicated in public. Eugene was jailed.
—Kevin J. Dexter, 30, of Seventh Street in Franklin, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance-synthetic cannabinoids
—Jereith J. Callery, 26, of Isabella Street in Franklin, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (synthetic cannabinoids) fourth offense, introduction of contraband into a penal institution second offense, a warrant for simple assault, and no license plate illumination. After a traffic stop, Callery was searched further at the police department and found to possess additional suspected Schedule I controlled dangerous substance in his underwear, Crouch said. Dexter and Callery were jailed.
—Mary M. Westerbuhr, 38, of Orlando, Fla., was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sunday for simple battery and disturbing the peace.
—Eric L. Curtis, 25, of Everett Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine for a probation violation, a warrant for failure to appear for a probation violation, a warrant for failure to pay a fine for contempt of court, a warrant for failure to pay a fine for contempt of court, a warrant for failure to appear for a probation violation, and a warrant for a probation violation for St. Mary Parish.
Officers arrived and were advised that Westerbuhr struck another female at a hotel. Westerbuhr was detained and placed under arrest. A second person at the scene, Curtis, was discovered to be wanted on numerous warrants. Both were jailed.
—Dawn M. Height, 44, of Carriage Cove in Franklin, was arrested at 4:01 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment for theft, a warrant for failure to appear for simple assault, and a warrant for three counts of issuing worthless checks. Height was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Chane Favors, 38, of the 1500 block of Plum Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. Friday for resisting an officer with force, remaining where forbidden, and disturbing the peace intoxicated. Favors was jailed on $988 bail.
—Patrick Augman, 39, of the 300 block of Como Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:39 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of open container and a warrant for theft. Augman was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Jacob T. Alcina, 25, of the 200 block of Jeffery Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:03 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for simple battery, false imprisonment, and theft more than $100 and less than $500. Alcina was jailed with no bail set yet.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Milan Sanders, 22, of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Sunday for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Sanders was jailed and released on bail.
—Tonya Conner, 31, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Friday for driving under suspension and improper lane use. Conner was released on bail.
