Vandebilt sweeps MCHS soccer teams

Vandebilt Catholic swept Morgan City High School in District 6-III soccer action Friday in Houma.
In the girls’ game, Vandebilt defeated Morgan City (2-13-1 overall, 2-4 in District 6-III) by mercy rule with an 8-0 victory in a contest that lasted just one half.
Vandebilt Catholic came into the game ranked No. 1 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division III girls’ power rankings.
In boys’ action, Morgan City (7-11-2 overall, 2-4 in district) lost 4-0. The Tigers trailed 3-0 at the half.
The Terriers were ranked No. 2 in the latest Division III power rankings prior to the contest.
While Morgan City was scheduled to host E.D. White tonight, that game has been moved to Wednesday.
The girls will play at 5 p.m., while the boys will follow at 7 p.m.
E.D. White enters the game ranked No. 7 in Division III in girls’ soccer, while its boys’ squad is ranked No. 5.
