Morgan City High School girls’ basketball standout Casey Chenevert recently earned honorable mention Class 4A All-State honors on the team, chosen by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
Morgan City girls basketball coach Anthony Garrison was honored by family and friends for leading his team to the Class 4A girls playoffs. The Lady Tigers, the No. 31 seed, will face No. 2 seed Warren Easton today at 6 p.m. in New Orleans. It is the school’s first trip to the postseason since 2009. The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Ellender in District 7-4A play Tuesday, 69-42.
Ellender jumped out to a 16-6 lead after the first period and had extended it to 40-15 at the half.
