Our beloved Marion Rita Gaedchens Voisin passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born Nov. 2, 1944, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to the late James and Pearl Gaedchens and was a long time resident of Patterson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Peter Jackson Voisin; four children, Marion Denise Voisin and her companion, Michael Bacon, of Bridge City, Cynthia Anne Conque and her husband, Blaine, of Carencro, Peter Junius Voisin and his wife, Stacey, of Bayou L’Ourse, and Paige Jason Voisin and his wife, Shavonne, of Bayou Vista; three sisters, Gertrude Jones, of Mississippi, Burdine Kocurek, of Texas, and Betty Cook, of Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Kenneth, Danielle, Jeri-Lyn, Julia, Trevor, Sabrina, Alex, Colby, Abby, Jace, Brooke, Katelyn and Cody; seven great-grandchildren, Claire, Kaleb, Lucas, Owen, Boston, Wyatt and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Marie Dore; three infant brothers; and her great-grandson, Fenway Kennerson.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Holt, Trevor Conque, Alex Voisin, Cody Voisin, Colby DeHart and Jace DeHart.
Christian services and burial were held graveside at 3 p.m. Friday Aug. 15, 2014, at Wilson Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
