Central Catholic’s annual softball tournament will begin Friday and continue Saturday at the Amelia Recreation Complex.
The tournament will feature seven teams.
All but one area high school softball and baseball game scheduled for today have been cancelled.
Berwick High School’s Sydney Aucoin throws to first base for an out during the Lady Panther’s contest against Morgan City Friday night, while teammate Rennen DeLatte looks on. Aucoin earned the win for the Lady Panthers in the contest, one of five games the team played this weekend. The Lady Panthers also defeated Captain Shreve Friday and St. Charles Saturday, while the squad fell to Kaplan Saturday evening. Also, Friday, Berwick concluded a contest against New Iberia suspended from earlier last week and won the contest.
The Berwick Lady Panthers won four of five games this weekend — three at their Lady Panther Classic and the fourth, a conclusion of a makeup game.
