Ascension Catholic upsets CCHS, 28-21

Ascension Catholic upset Central Catholic, 28-21, in Thursday night high school football action in Donaldsonville.
Central Catholic came into the game ranked No. 5 in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll, while Ascension Catholic received 15 votes in the week's poll.
The loss was Central Catholic's second straight as well as its second defeat this season by seven points.
A week ago, the Eagles fell to Opelousas Catholic, 34-27.
Central Catholic (1-2) will open District 7-1A play Sept. 23 when it hosts Lafayette Christian in a 7 p.m. contest.
