Central Catholic, Patterson win first-round playoff games

Central Catholic and Patterson remained in the Division IV (Class 1A select) and Class 3A postseasons, respectively, with wins in first-round action Friday involving east St. Mary High School football teams.
In Division IV, No. 3 Central Catholic came back to defeat No. 14 Delhi Charter, 12-8, with a late touchdown.
Central Catholic (9-2) will return to action next week against No. 6 Ouachita Christian, who defeated Covenant Christian, 56-21 tonight.
In Class 3A, No. 7 Patterson defeated No. 26 Richwood 56-18.
Patterson (8-3) now will face No. 10 seed Loranger next week. Loranger defeated No. 23 seed Bogalusa 35-7 in other first-round action tonight.
